Track By Track: Dxvxdxd Sxlf - Of Wolves And Men (2018)

1. Under the gaze of Christ:

This track tells the story of a man who crosses different universes during an experience of altered consciousness. He will be finally brought back by the vision of his bride waiting for him on a bridge. This song opens the album, it’s the shortest, the heaviest and we shoot a music video in a desecrated chapel in which were projected images from Ingmar Bergman’s Seventh Seal.

2. Dreamer on ecstasy:

This one is quite progressive, with electronic touches leading to a guitar solo and explosive chorus. A personal and exutory song which defines the artistic direction from the beginning of the band.

3. The path:

Back to a more metal sound, faster with 3 choruses. There’s a theatrical part with lots of synthesizers and orchestrations. Lyrics are inspired from apocryphal gospels, in particular from Thomas’ from which we sing an extract at the end of the song.

4. Spiritual beggars:

The final song of the EP, it’s also the most heavy and mid tempo. The introduction samples are a tribute to Andrei Tarkovsky’s Nostalghia, movie that has also influenced the lyrics talking about the thin veil between life and death, love and madness. A music video has been shooted in black and white, showing the hazards of the band from filthy drunkenness to more spiritual experiences.
