Interviews: Lungless

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore/Post-Hardcore band Lungless from Canada. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our band name was actually a weird typo. Nick, our guitarist, was typing something at the time and somehow is phone autocorrected something to Lungless and he just sent to to us and was just “Yo... what about Lungless” and we all agreed it was a unique name and something that fit us.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I’ve always been a fan of heavy music and metal core/post-hardcore and so has the rest of the band so it just kind of made sense that the music we would write would fall in line with those genres.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Nick, Greg and Myself all used to play in a band together before Lungless. Curtis played in a band that we have know and played shows with over the years called Drag The Lake.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Michael - Linkin Park or Coheed and Cambria.
Nick - Lou Bega or Defetones
Curtis - Behemoth
Greg - Architects

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our experiences, the people we meet, I like to think everything inspires us to write songs and write the music we do.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at DSTRCT in Guelph, Ontario. We had a little weekend run that weekend to promote our new EP “t i r e d \\ E Y E S” with our friends in a band called Perfect Limbs. So we played Brampton, Toronto and then Guelph.

7. Where would you like to perform?

I personally would love to preform in Japan or anywhere in Europe but I think all of us would be happy just playing some more shows/touring in the United States.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

I think I speak for the whole band when I say wed like to play some shows with,
Counterparts or Architects.

9. Whom not?

Not really any artists we wouldn’t want to play with. We are big supporters of mixed genre bills.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think we all used to suffer from it and when we play bigger shows we still get worked up and nervous/anxious from it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Personally most of the Nu-Metal bands of the early 2000’s inspired me to get into music and then it just grew from there. I think through out the years though, as my music taste moves around quite a bit depending on what I’m feeling, Linkin Park, Coheed and Cambria, Dope, Static-X those 4 bands probably made the biggest mark on me and my interest to play music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I still get weirded out when people ask for us to sign a CD. We did just get asked for a signed photo from France, so that was pretty cool.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The fans we have are wonderful. In 2019 we are trying to grow our fanbase as much as possible.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s actually really cool, I was really interested in the fact that you had promoters listed for a couple different areas because I know lots of small bands (our selves included) have trouble finding promoters in areas or connections that could lead to different areas.
