Interviews: RESOLVE

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Hardcore/Post-Hardcore band RESOLVE from France. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It actually took us quite some time to find a name we were happy with. I think we had most, if not all of the songs written and demoed and still had no idea how we were gonna name this band! So many suggestions have been thrown out, one of us eventually came up with 'Resolve' which had a nice dual meaning
to us, while sounding good said out loud... so we just went with that!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

There is so many things we love about this music and how it makes us feel. The chills you get when the energy feels just right in the studio, the adrenaline rush provided by a good live performance... but also the people in the scene, with a common sense of passion and ethics make this journey worthwhile!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Well, three of the founding members are brothers, so getting to know each other was easy. We met Anthony while playing shows with one of his older bands years ago, we all stayed in touch and became good mates so it all fell into place in a very natural way.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Hard to pick an absolute favourite... Lately, all of us have been heavily listening to this new UK band called Sleep Token. I suggest you check out their single 'Jaws', it’s so good!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Can be lots of different things. As for our most recent track, 'Carmela', it was written after the passing of our  vocalist’s grandmother, Carmela Diliberto. More than a mourning song,  the whole theme for it was the impact someone can have on your life, the 'passing of the torch' and the fear of yourself not leaving any lasting trace  on your loved ones life.

6. Where was your last gig?

We were on tour across Europe and the UK last month, had just played in Switzerland and on our way to Germany when our van broke down. We were supposed to play our last show of the year in Brighton in the UK, but we ended up stranded and covered in mud in the middle of nowhere!

7. Where would you like to act?

That’s gonna be quite a generic answer but everywhere, really. I think Australia is very high on the wishlist though, that would be quite a trip.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

To be honest, that’s not something we absolutely want to do! But I think that we'd try to have our guest bring something different to our music than what we can do ourselves.

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Most of the time, we are pretty relaxed when hitting the stage, but I know for sure that we all had some sort of stage fright right before the first ever show we performed as Resolve!

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

So many! We actually put together a Spotify playlist featuring some of the influences we’ve had when writing our debut EP, I think most of it would still be relevant nowadays, but it’s always growing and evolving for sure!

I don’t think we’ve ever had any weird fan encounter, some were very drunk for sure but that’s about it!

12. What do you think of your fans?

Some people have shown an amount of dedication towards this band that moves us everyday. We are thankful most of all, and always cherish the time spent with those who want to support us, wether it be after a show or through our socials. That’s the best 'reward' we could hope for.

13. What do you think of our site?

Massive thanks to the Breathing The Core team for picking our new single 'Carmela' as song of the week! your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed by all of us upcoming bands, thank you for always spreading the word.

14. Something add?
