Behind The Artworks: Red Cain - Kindred: Act 1 (2019)

For both Kindred: Act I and the eventual installment Act II, the mythological aspect of the album concept was very important. We wanted to take that symbolism and use it as an identifying feature of the album artwork, stylized with the same intent as cave paintings, stained glass windows, and medieval sigils, but with a minimalistic, modern twist. Evgeniy Zayarny sketched the design involving three figures representing the stories and myths covered on the album - The Morrigan, Celtic goddess of war, fate, and death - Veles, the Slavic god of war and earth - and Anubis, the Egyptian protector of the underworld. The initial sketch was recreated as a design by Russian artist Timur Khabirov, and Igor Zayarny designed the album cover in a way that captured our vision.
