Interviews: Align The Tide

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal band Align The Tide from Malta. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?   

Danny & Kyle: We were just hanging out by the pool having a drink discussing some band names and all of a sudden the name “Align the Tide” came up and we just liked it, there’s no meaning behind the name it just sounds awesome.   

2. Why did you want to play this genre?       

All the band – We basically grew up listening to mostly Rock & Metal and we were influenced at a young age.    

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?       

Danny: Kyle & I met around 10 years ago and worked musically together ever since, later on in around 2011 we had formed a metal band and Nikki was with us at the time but we had parted ways in around 2014, Kyle & I kept on working together to this day. In the early stages of Align the Tide which was late 2015, Gabriel a.k.a Chippy joined the band. After three years of working together, playing shows locally in Malta and abroad including USA we parted ways with our rhythm guitarist Alston, which made me immediately contact Nikki to join the band once again to make the band move on further.   

4. Each band member favourite band?       

Danny: Avenged Sevenfold           

Kyle: Killswitch Engage            

Nikki: Architects             

Chippy: Rings of Saturn    

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?      

All the band – Well it depends on all our moods and what we had just listened to in the car on the way to our studio. We cannot go through a day without listening to music so inspiration is continuously coming towards us.     

6. Where was your last gig?

Sickfest ( local festival in Malta )

7. Where would you like to act?

Danny: I would love to go back to USA.           

Kyle: Australia            

Nikki: New Zealand            

Chippy: Japan     

8. Whom would you like to feature with?       

Danny: Slipknot            

Kyle: Korn           

Nikki: Lamb of God            

Chippy: Cannibal Corpse    

9. Whom not?      

Chippy: We’ll tour with everyone, we’re not really fussy about it.   

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?         

Kyle: I usually panic before I get on stage but when I play the first chord of the set my confidence just springs up. And for the beginners, just go out there and fucking do it.    

11. What bands have inspired you the most?         

Danny: Guns n Roses              

Kyle: Slipknot             

Nikki: Motley Crue              

Chippy: Black Sabbath    

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?         

Chippy: They never really asked us for anything weird so far.   

13. What do you think of your fans?        

Nikki: As I use to be one of them I can confirm that they are loud & crazy fuckers.   

14. What do you think of our site?        

All the band:  Well organized and a good platform to find new talented bands.
