Interviews: Darkdrinker

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal/Deathcore/Djent band Darkdrinker from USA. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

From a video game “Destiny” our drummer and guitarist are avid players

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It’s high energy and is fun to go crazy at shows.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Most of us have known each other for a while Garrett and Josh knew each other but we just met last year when we were still recording the EP

4. Each band member favourite band?

Garret loves Metallica and Cannibal Corpse, Josh likes In Flames and Killswitch Engage, John listens a lot of Vulfpeck and Architects, Adam and I like anything from The Black Dahlia Murder to Every time I Die.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I’d say our families and life experiences and the music we listen to has all been a positive vice to write and perform.

6. Where was your last gig?

Josh and Garrett just joined in the last month or two so our first shows should be happening soon in the next couple months.

7. Where would you like to act?

All over

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

It’d be a dream to tour with Arkaik, TLTSOL, Traitors, Beyond Creation, or Fallujah. Our styles really flexible so I think we could fit just about any genre of metal.

9. Whom not?

Not sure there’s any bands we wouldn’t want to play with

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Even big bands have nerves. It’s all in focusing positive thoughts into confidence but not letting an ego come out.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There’s tons. The Chariot, Killswitch Engage, Gorod, Architects, Fit for an Autopsy, Kraanium, Analepsy, Whitechapel, Etc.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing weird so far...

13. What do you think of your fans?

So far everyone’s been supportive of our new release especially our personal friends (shout outs: The Glasgow Smile, Aberrant Construct, and All Seems Lost)

14. What do you think of our site?

We personally love the support and think it’s a fantastic way for people to find new up and coming bands and network with people to help grow the genre of metal.

15. Something add?

Just be on the look out for new content from us this year...there’s going to be a ton of great stuff!!!
