Interviews: Death Has Spoken

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Doom Metal band Death Has Spoken from Poland. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It came out just like that but it took some time. We were looking for a name that describes our music, songs lyrics etc. We had some ideas but we quickly gave up on them.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We didn’t think about it. It just happened. We played in different bands, different music but at the end we ended up in a completely different style than before. We had to make a long trip to get to this place but it was worth it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we lived in the same city. The underground scene is not big there so we played several times on one stage in other projects. Also, there was a time when we played together in the same band. It was a long time ago.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Talking of not doom-metal bands, it will be Emperor, Bathory, Satyricon, Black Sabbath, Black Label Society, Mastodon, Opeth, Soen, Mgła, Cradle Of Filth.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

There are many writers and artists but the greatest inspiration was the works of

Edgar Allan Poe.

6. Where was your last gig?

In Poland, like all others so far. We hope that soon we will be performing concerts outside our homeland.

7. Where would you like to act?

There are so many places. Hard to say.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

With bands that inspire us and the legends of metal music on which we all grew up.

9. Whom not?

If we're talking about metal bands, we don’t have enemies or a blacklist. But we certainly would not like to play on one stage with pop, hip-hop, disco artists ect.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Everything what’s new scares you somehow. Don’t think too much about how you do it, let it happen. Don't be so hard on yourself. Follow your own path, according to your own rules.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I think it will not be a surprise if I say that bands like Doom:VS, Swallow the Sun, Paradise Lost, Type O Negative, Katatonia, October Tide, My Dying Bride and Candlemass.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven't had any strange requests so far.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are very grateful for their support. It means a lot to us. We truly hope, that what you find in our music sustains a piece of light in the midst of your darkness.

14. What do you think of our site?

You're doing a great job. We are happy that there are still people in the underground who find so much faith in themselves to do such things. Thanks to you, the scene is still alive.

15. Something add?

This year we have a lot of hard work to do. We are focused on the new album but also on the upcoming concerts. Stay tuned!
