Interviews: Desolate Blight

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Deathcore band Desolate Blight from USA. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Skeye: Anthony and myself had an idea about a band and wanted the band name originally to be something cool with one word, our first name was mushinkei or something like that which didn’t fit our style. So one night we brainstormed and I hinted desolate blight and Anthony loved it. So we stuck with it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Skeye: Honestly I don’t but at the same time something about desolate has my heart tied to it.

Anthony: I've wanted to do myspace revival deathcore for the longest time, the riffs & structure have always been super fun to me.

Michael: I´ve always wanted to play this style of music that challenged my playing ability/style.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Skeye: Yes actually we all used to be very great friends. Michael used to be my guitarist in a separate band and I had played a couple shows with Anthony’s old band and we clicked as well. Love these guys to death and I absolutely love desolate.

Michael: I met skeye through facebook when i joined his old band. Eventually played a show with Anthony’s old band and thats when i met him.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Skeye: If I were to choose a band in the same genre I wouldn’t choose a band, I’d choose 2 albums that defined my vocal abilities and inspiration  “Flesh coffin, and psalms, by Lorna shore.”

Anthony: Lately i've been jamming TONS of the hopewell furnace & visenya lately, along with algernon cadwallader & salt the wound of course.

Michael: I cant answer that

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Skeye: A lot of things but mostly my consistency with lyrics describing my life and emotions. I want people to see the images I paint and understand them and appreciate them as much as I do.

Anthony: Mental health, emotions, weird feelings, all that jazz haha

Michael: Friends, enemies, experiences, and memories.

6. Where was your last gig?

Skeye: I think some local venue not sure.

Anthony: Impromptu house show set i believe heheh

Michael: oof

7. Where would you like to act?

Skeye: Act? Not sure but venues I’d like to play are definitely some in Florida, Los Angeles and Vegas. Not sure where chain reaction is but it always looks lit.

Anthony: The whole dang world, & mars too tbh.

Michael: Mars sounds tite

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Skeye: If I could be featured on anything and everything that’d be my biggest dream set in stone. Besides that I’d be down for Tom Barber from Chelsea, Darius Tehrani from Spite, and Kyle Medina from Bodysnatcher.

Anthony: Anything would be sick! i love doing stuff with all artists, i actually just featured on Artificial Pathogen's new ep, i highly recommend it, it's a total banger

9. Whom not?

Skeye: I have no idea what to say to that because if I featured with anyone why would I opt out to anyone??

Anthony: Dude, FUCK yelawolf

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Skeye: I’ve been on stages for years. My biggest thing I do is I have adhd so half the time I’m on stage I don’t even realize I am because I’m thinking about how my food was made two weeks ago.

Anthony: i'm freaking out. you don't see me, but i'm DYING. if you have tips pls help me.

Michael: Tbh ive never had it. Maybe once when i was faded but thats it

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Skeye: Definitely Lorna shore, ingested, a night in Texas, cattle decapitation, and anything with dickie Allen on it.

Anthony: Oh man. invent animate, the contortionist, reflections, vctms, salt the wound, wuddup, alterbeast, the black dahlia murder, rose funeral.

Michael: I cant answer that

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Skeye: Hmm, probably to spend the night at their house when I just met them.

Anthony: "Can you touch my hands"

Michael: Had someone ask to smoke meth with them and i said hell nooooooooo

13. What do you think of your fans?

Skeye: I absolutely love each and every one of them.

Anthony: Total homies, love all of u with my whole dang heart.

Michael: Friends forever.

14. What do you think of our site?

Skeye: Super lit, so fresh and so clean clean, I used it to catch some new tunes as well.

Anthony: I rate it 15 cool dogs on a skateboard out of 10

Michael: Tite!

15. Something add?

Skeye: Desolate blight is coming out with heat this year 2019 is gonna be a banger, much love to everyone who supported our first year as a band, I’m excited to take over with desolate.
