Interviews: Erica Drive

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Punk Rock/Emo band Erica Drive from UK. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We had finished our first EP and when putting ideas forward Matt lived on Erica Drive and it came up as a suggestion and after a while it stuck.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We love writing music we would want to listen to and feel connected to so this genre resonates with us all.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Our bass player Damian joined us quite recently but the rest of us have known each other for ages and played in bands together before.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Matt: InMe

Frank: Alexisonfire 

Damien: Every time I Die 

Sam: Thrice 

Damian: Fall Out Boy.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We are inspired to write by loads of different things, usually one of us has an idea and we jam it out and If it falls into place we know it will fit us. It should never be forced.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last Gig was in Newbury.

7. Where would you like to play?

Matt: New Zealanda

8. Who would you like to support?

Collectively I think we would love to support Thrice, Jimmy eat world, trash boat.

9. Whom not?

We're pretty happy to play with anyone who wants to hear us.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

I (Matt) used to suffer from it really bad I'd be so worried about what people would think or if I'd mess up but over time and the more I did It I released that If you're well practiced it become natural and there must be thousands of people wanting to play music and I get to go and do it so for however long you're on stage give it everything you have and know the audience are there to support musicians so embrace it and enjoy it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Matt: The Used. Growing up they had the perfect balance for me every song was beautifully written and never failed to catch onto a feeling. 

Sam: Architects. 

Frank: The Wonder Years. Damien – Architects. They show no matter what life throws at them, you can continue moving forward with more momentum than before. 

Damian: The Cure.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

So far we haven't been asked for anything overly weird.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Anyone who takes their time to show up and watch our band play we say thank you but  don't think words can truly show how much it really means to us that they support us.

14. What do you think of our site?

Super informative and a great source to find out about new bands.
