Interviews: Upon A Falling Empire

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metalcore band Upon A Falling Empire from Australia. Check out the interview and this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We realised that we are all born into a world that is crumbling around us.  We could either sit back and watch the destruction, or we could make a difference. Our name grew from there.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We all grew up listening to metal. Metal is a very expressive and dynamic genre that allows us to create different moods, tempo and rhythms, to describe the feelings that can't be put into words.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Four of us went to the same high school.  We found our drummer Trey on Gumtree.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Chris (Guitarist) - Fit for an Autopsy
Dan (Bassist) - Wintersun
Ash (Vocalist) -  Bleed from Within
Maiki (Guitarist) - 8 Foot Sativa
Trey (Drummer)- Luke Holland and Alex Rudinger

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We draw upon past, present and future realities, and everything else in between.

6. Where was your last gig?

Bogan Fest 2019 - A private house party in Brisbane.

7. Where would you like to play?

At large festivals, around the world.

8. Who would you like to support?

Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Chimaira.

9. Whom not?

Unethical rip off artists who exploit the vulnerable and the weak.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

When we first started playing our vocalist Ash was the most nervous one in the band. Ash says ‘Stage fright to me is actually a good thing, because it shows you care about your performance.”  “Try to channel your anxiety in a positive way, so it becomes an adrenaline boost.” “Smile, relax, and have fun.”

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Children of Bodom, Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Slipknot, Opeth, Obscura, Behemoth, Slipknot.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We don't have any weird fans stories just yet.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are amazing!  We appreciate all who take the time to like, connect, share, follow or listen to our music.  We are thankful for their continued support, for buying our merch, and for coming to our shows and putting their bodies on the line, in the mosh pit.

14. What do you think of our site?

This platform is a great supportive network, for discovering and sharing new music with like minded people.

15. Something to add?

We’ll be dropping our new EP ‘A War Between Worlds’ on Feb 9th and it will be available on all platforms.   You can check it out here. http://hyperurl.co/awarbetweenworlds

We’d love to receive feedback about our EP, and hopefully make it onto a Compilation.

Thank you for the interview Breathing the Core! \m/
