Behind The Artworks: Acaedia - Headstrong (2019)

Ray Jimenez: We wanted to keep it simple with the artwork. Many metal bands tend to use really intricate, sometimes dark and ominous designs, and I wanted to step away from that. When I was thinking about the artwork, I honestly treated it like a piece of clothing, a T-shirt. I asked myself, what’s a design that I would wear? When I was younger, I was into dark and ominous, but those times have come and gone; I like color now. Headstrong encompasses this idea that nature is not out to get anyone; things just happen. I felt the cover should serve to hint at this idea that nature can’t really be controlled. That’s how I came up with the flowers and wires concept.
