Interviews About Albums: All In Due Time - Young And Dumb (2019)

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Frank: This EP will make you feel happy, rebellious, sad, and revived. It's a blend of classic 2000s pop-punk mixed in with some modern pop punk. It will be a nostalgic trip from 1999 to 2005.

Zeke: This EP was definitely like a blast from 2000s type thing for me. It’s what I grew up with, it's what I love. It's also very me very personal to me and I feel like it's a great appetizer for what's to come.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Frank: “Young & Dumb," to me, makes me think of all the times all of us have done something stupid - be it for the sake of being right, or because you thought it was worth it. In the midst of that ignorance, you realized by some higher power be it yourself or others, that it was indeed a dumb mistake. You also learned from your mistakes.

Zeke: "Young & Dumb" is exactly what is being young and dumb. Not knowing your worth, not knowing how to cope with your feelings, wanting to party all the time, but also being sad. For this EP, I wanted it to be fun. When you think about this EP, I want you to think back to when you were young, back in high school - all the dumb things you did, all the relationships, but most of all.. all the firsts and all the fun!

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Frank: Our singer and rhythm guitarist Ezequiel Medrano is the songwriter for all of the tracks. We all have helped composed most of the instrumental parts to the songs.

Zeke: Me! I'm the primary songwriter for all of the tracks. The band kinda just added their parts and made the EP what it was; I'm super happy I met these talented blokes!

4. If you have to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Frank: It's really hard to choose, but I'd say Fairytale. Simply because it was one of the first songs that helped paved the way for not just the band, but my friendship with Ezequiel. We jammed together for the first time through that song, and the rest is history.

Zeke: Good question. I guess for me it would have to be Young And Dumb. I love the groove, I like my songwriting for that song, and I love the meaning, which simplified is basically “So what if we’re young and dumb? Let's have fun.”

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Frank: Yes. "Everything is cool, man."

Zeke: You’re not going to be young forever; go have fun! You don't always have to be dumb though - you can leave that up to m.

6. Are there some lyrics that you´d love to share?

Frank: "What do you mean you don't remember what we did in September?" from "Clean Slate" and "I know that I won't live forever, but that's okay, cuz someday I'll die; I won't regret a thing. Now don't get me wrong” from “Fairytale.”

Zeke: Obviously the greatest lyrics of all time:  "Na na na na na na.” In all seriousness though, this one’s a long one. I take my lyrics very serious and add hidden meanings behind everything, so I love this question. Two parts from Young And Dumb: "What is this laughter that I'm after turns out it’s everything I'm ever after" and "drunk and unafraid, we spend the whole night losing and laughing, praying and catching these feeling every single day" are basically the truth - we are all searching for the same thing in life happiness. Whether your happiness is found with love, money or in something or someone else, it's up to you to decide. For me, it’s laughter - I want the people around me to be happy and laughing and I want to laugh away the pain, learn to let go of the little things in life and to not hold grudges.

7. Which inspirations haven been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thanks especially?

Frank: Alice & Wonderland, Rabbits, Goofy, Memes, Tom Delonge (Blink 182), Ben Barlow (Neck Deep), Billy Joe Armstrong (Green Day), Bacardi Rum, Empanadas, & Weed

Zeke: Lyric wise for me, my life, definitely my high school experience… some college, but mostly high school and home life. For instrumentals, definitely a bunch of Green Day for rhythm and some Ed Sheeran.

8. Something to add?

Frank: Thanks for checking us out!

Zeke: If this is your first time hearing of us, please follow us on social media! We are already working on the next project, so if you like this one even just a tad, you'll love the next one! Also, come to a show - we give out free merch!
