Interviews: NIHILITY

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Black Metal/Death Metal band NIHILITY from Portugal. Check out the interview and follow the band on their  FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The idea came from the founder of the band. The name was supposed to show not only what the band represents, but also what the message that we were trying to get across was.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The genre is a mix of the band member's favourite genres combined. Well, at least it was back when it started. Now with new band members, the tastes do differ more than what they used to, but that's not at all a bad thing.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We didn't, in fact, most of us only met each other when we started rehearsing together.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Mário's would be Cannibal Corpse, Miguel Seewald's Archpire, Miguel Vanzeler's Decapitated, Luís' is Slayer and Renato's is Metallica.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We get inspiration to write songs from our different influences in musical taste, lyrically speaking the main influence is the philosophy of nihilism.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at Fora de Rebanho, in Viseu, with Ledderplain and Decayed.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would like to perform all around the world.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

All of the bands that we listed as our favourites and plenty more.

9. Whom not?

Mainly bands that we don't like/appreciate as much.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

All of us have suffered from stage fright, we believe all musicians do. The main tip is to be confident and enjoy what you're doing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

So many... Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Decapitated, Napalm Death, Behemoth the list goes on.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We can't recall having someone asking us something that might be considered "weird".

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are the best, they stuck with us through the good and bad times, we can only be grateful.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's really good, very well organized and easy to access.

15. Something add?

It's been a pleasure answering all your questions.
