Interviews: Landless

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Melodic Hardcore band Landless from Slovakia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I wouldn´t say we planned it at all. It´s just got there somehow as we wanted to simplify it as much as possible. I think we only agreed on the one-worded version, but that was it. Anyway, I believe landless sounds pretty phonetic, doesn´t it?

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Everybody tries to play something they love, which goes for us too. You find exceptions, for sure, but that´s what it´s about for 99% bands, I truly believe. If I should wrap it, then what we love the most is the energy that comes from the genre in the first place.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, not at all. On the other hand time flies and you become a friend with so many people so quickly it can change drastically within a few days. We are not in the wonderland and we had some personal changes as well. Just to give you an example, Our bass-guitarist (Eduard) and guitarist (Peter) have known each other for years, but that´s it. Love for music is what it comes down to.

4. What’s each band member’s favorite band?

Just to give you a few bands off the top of my head, it´d be probably something like this. I (Laci) listen to Polaris, Northlane or Landmvrks (who we’ve played with several times as well). I don’t say no to a bit of pop music either. For Peter, it would be mostly Architects or You Me at Six. Patrik´s favorite is the band Pity Sex. Eduard likes some good old classic Iron Maiden. He has Landmvrks in his head too though. Last but not least, Nikolaj mostly listens to instrumental music nowadays.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

When you just sit down and you try to think of something, it usually does not work. Hence, we get inspired by life situations, stories and so on. As said previously, you meet too many people every-day, hear tones of things. You just have to find your way through and put it together.

6. Where was your last gig?

Can´t even remember as we are dying to get on the stage again. But it was in September last year in Žilina.

7. Where would you most like to play?

We just want to play, explore new places, have fun and gather some fans. But for now, it´d be the United Kingdom in which we don´t have preferred destination. Just being there would mean everything.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

The biggest whales you can get in the genre of ours: August Burns Red, Northlane, Architects, Polaris or Parkway Drive.

9. Whom not?

You´re asking some damn good questions. We don´t have such list at the moment, so it´s safe to say, we´d like to play with everybody.

10. Has any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We have, we do and we will for sure. It´s part of a process. You can for sure get used to it after some time or maybe dozens of shows, but I think it never disappears completely. You feel a certain level of responsibility despite the fact you do what you love. It gets better with time for sure it´s just important to not push it too much or get frustrated.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I´d mentioned the same names as before probably. Although it´s a pretty good thing to have multiple genres, idea, opinions as every one of us listens to something else.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

One guy once asked me if I could give my signature, but you can probably imagine which part of his body he was referring to.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We wouldn´t be here in this position without them. We much much appreciate all people who come over either to listen to us, to have a chat or even those who just come and go. People are the best energizer.

14. What do you think of our site?

I have to be honest it looks awesome. Graphics parts are nicely connected to content, so you can easily find what you look for. Everything you´d like to see. Good job.

15. Anything to add?

Big thumbs up for giving us a chance to present the band! Support is really appreciated. We have only 3 days left until Moonflower is out, so feel free to get in touch via Facebook, Instagram or Spotify.
