Interviews: HAAS

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Pop/Rock band HAAS from the USA. Check out the interview.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

HAAS’ name came about really organically. I was just starting to write for the EP and was thinking of working on a few name ideas. I wanted to pay tribute to my grandfather (he was the other musician in the family) & to have the name HAAS live on.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I love all genres a try to not define or keep myself in that particular box but I believe that for this EP particular pop/rock was the best way to get the emotions I had been feeling for so long out. It felt like the most natural thing in the world.

3. Each band member favorite band?

There are so many awesome bands to choose from but my all time favorite band is Paramore and current favorite is Maren Morris! She is an awesome songwriter.

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everything! Love, loss, chaos, things happening in the world right now, relationships, bullying, etc. You think it, I’ve probably started some sort of song on it already. I try to be very vigilant with the world around me because inspiration could strike at any moment.

5. Where was your last gig?

The last gig we had was a small acoustic show at Epicure Cafe in Fairfax! It was super intimate and we were able to try out some new material coming soon.

6. Where would you like to play?

My absolute biggest dream would be to perform at Cap One Arena in Washington DC since that is near my hometown and be able to see all my friends & family. I also have always wanted to play to O2. Like I said before, I enjoy the smaller venues because it is such an intimate thing. So being able to just tour and play for people who look forward to hearing you would be an absolute dream.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Like I stated above I love Maren Morris. Collabing with her at some point would be awesome. Also, Brendon Urie, Fleetwood Mac, Paramore, The Chainsmokers & Yungblud would be really awesome collabs too.

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I have always suffered from stage anxiety & still do. I am my own best/worst hype man and think about all the potentials that could happen. My biggest fear is no one clapping. I have come to terms with the fact that might not everyone will like you or your music but to just perform and give your best. Also always remember to have fun! There is a reason you continue to get up there and sing your heart out!

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Paramore, Panic! At the Disco, Against the Current, The Maine, Fleetwood Mac, etc. I could go on & on but the one thing I learned from all these bands is to just be you. Don’t let anymore tell you who you should & shouldn't be.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I haven’t had any of those encounters quite yet with fans. I can’t wait though! Always love those stories

12. What do you think of your fans?

LOVE YOU! Thank you for always supporting me when I felt that I should not have support! I am so so so excited to share this chapter of my life with you!
