Interviews: Under Aegis


In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metalcore band Under Aegis from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

Avery: "I named the band in High School, derived from Greek mythology; it's a metaphor for being under divine power. It's a good representation of internal struggles and triumph.

2. Why did you want to play this genre? 

Metal music is the voice for people who aren't being heard and can't talk about their problems, it's like an extreme sport what we play and feel on stage.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Avery: " my brother and I started jamming and we recruited Bao to play guitar, we've also known Carl from the music scene when he was in other bands. We were all mutual friends at one point.

4. Each band member favorite band? 

Carl: For the fallen dreams, Emmure, OCEANO and I've been recently digging the new northlane.

Avery: After the Burial, Hacktivist, Veil of Maya, Volumes 

Bao:  Humanity's Last Breath, Reflections, DVSR, Alpha Wolf, Wage War

Parker: After the Burial, Northlane

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Other good musicians 

6. Where was your last gig? 

The Miramar, w/ Within the Ruins and Sentinels 

7. Where would you like to act? 

East and West Coast, Australia Download Fest, Germany, Japan and Coachella "haha one day"

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Adam Warren (Oceano) Drew York (stray from the path) Lukas Magyar (Veil of Maya) and Joji

9. Whom not? 

Drake (fear the deer)

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

There's a pill for that lol just kidding Avery- " all of us get some pre-show anxiety, we channel  and redirect it into excitement and energy towards our performance."

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

(old) VOLUMES, Linkin Park, Messuggah. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

carl- "I've had a fan recognize me in public settings and asked me to do vocals inappropriate settings"   

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We are privileged that people connect to our music when fans reach out to us, it is a reminder why we pursue this band.  

14. What do you think of our site? 

It's a good place to follow up on upcoming bands.
