Band Biographies: Restless Spirit

Relentless riffs + indelibale hooks = soul impacting songs! This is the equation that makes up the 4 piece Long Island, NY based metal band Restless Spirit. Starting out in July of 2016 (originally as DMP) the band fervently set out to hit the road and never waste a moment spreading their loud, dismal yet meaningful music. In just 2 short months the band had already hit the road twice and somehow found time to record and release their menacing debut EP Harvest. The 4 song release demonstrated their serious addiction to creating hauntingly heavy and groove-filled riffs that would make even the master himself Tony Iommi jealous.

The following 2 years would show no signs of slowing as Restless Spirit not only released a second EP entitled 1922 but embarked on many more tours including stints with Florida’s thrash metal powerhouse Rhythm Of Fear, South Carolina grind monsters Wvrm, southern sludge rockers Ether and the post-hardcore deviants Heaven’s Die based out of Virginia. In that time the band also found themselves making their way onto shows with impressive support slots for notable artists ranging from Terror, Crowbar, Doyle of The Misfits and even a rare NYC appearance with doom metal legend Scott ‘Wino’ Weinrichfrom The Obsessed.

Most recently the band has wrapped up recording for their first full-length album which they are looking to have released spring 2019. Lord Of The New Depression includes 9 soul-crushing, dreary anthems about misery and anguish mixed with a morbid twist of hope. The album, which was mixed by board genius Taylor Young (Nails, Twitching Tongues) and mastered by the infamous Brad Boatright (Sleep, Off!) saw its lead single ‘Ripped From Me’ debuted by Decibel Magazine. Their moniker is more than just a mere name asRestless Spirit truly describes the band’s undying ambition for creating heavy, melodically morose heavy metal.
