Band Biographies: Signs Of Reign

Signs Of reigN was formed in the fall of 2013. Founders Matt Johnson (Scream at the Sun, Grief Collector) and Denny "The Siren" Anthony (A-Frame, Abandoned Fate, Hour of Ashes, Pyramid, Veritas, etc.) met online and exchanged music ideas. It immediately became apparent that there was unique chemistry in songwriting and the band went on to record their first full-length album, "New Beginning". The project was an international collaboration that featured drummers Mark Zonder (Warlord, Fates Warning, Slavior, ZW, Veritas, etc.), German prodigy Sina Doering (Chi-Might, The Gäs), Aaron Lanik (Plague of Stars), and Brian Ruiz (A-Frame), as well as brilliant guitar soloists Jaime "Jimmy Coca-Cola" Mendiola (Harsh) and John Poggione (Drop, A-Frame, Know Rain, Veritas). In addition to this outstanding collaboration, Melissa Ferlaak (Plague of Stars) joined Denny Anthony in the epic duet called "Alpha & Omega".

On June 29th, 2018, Signs Of reigN released the single "Into Your Future". The song was written as a result one of Matt Johnson's former bandmate's passing, who was survived by three daughters. A local Minnesota radio station featured an interview with Matt concerning the song. All proceeds were given to his daughters.

The latest 2019 release from Signs Of reigN called "Awaken From Disguise" is their best collection of songs to date. Over 56 minutes of soaring melodies, thought provoking lyrics, tempo changes, unique arrangements and top notch musicianship all fit into songs fans will love and get lost in. Kevin Sundberg (Crimson Thorn, The Usual Suspects, Skymynd, Plop) was the exclusive drummer on this release. Jaime Mendiola and John Poggione reprised their roles, while seasoned guitar soloist HaanZ was added to the roster of collaborators.

Signs Of reigN is currently in the studio recording their third full-length album slated to be released in the fall of 2019.

If you love classic Queensrÿche, Fates Warning, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Dream Theater, Crimson Glory, then Signs Of reigN is certainly a band to explore.
