Interviews: InAir

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band InAir from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The idea for the band name came from the drummer from our guitarist Aaron's other band. He said that he felt the demos we should her were very atmospheric and spacious which is where the name InAir was created from.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We've all been rock fans for the majority of our lives and had played in various rock projects in the past in particular metal. We wanted to do something that combined all those different genres we enjoyed such as electronic rock, metalcore, and pop to create a unique product.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Connor and Aaron know each other from secondary school. Joe met the other guys through mutual friends and going to local shows at Facebar in Reading.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Very difficult question as we listen to such a variety of music. Joe's would be Linkin Park due to their huge catalogue of absolute bangers. Aarons would most likely be Korn because they're just awesome. Connor is weirdly a huge Isn't a West fan.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Like most people, we are inspired by life experiences to write music. Chester Bennington for us is the greatest inspiration in creating honest music that comes from the heart. That guy was incredible.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig we played was at Percy's Cafe Bar in Whitchurch. It was a really good gig in a really cool venue. The venue owner is s massive antique collector and has some random things include taxidermy of two tigers!

7. Where would you like to play?

In terms of festivals, we'd live to play the lock-up stage at Reading Festival. Some of us have been going to the festival for over ten years and we'd love the chance to represent the Reading rock scene at one of the biggest festivals in the world. We'd love to be able to play throughout Europe in the future.

8. Who would you like to support?

We'd love the chance to support Enter Shikari. I think InAir's sound has a lot to owe to Enter Shikari and I think that we could win over a lot of Shikari's fans. Realistically on our level, we'd love to support Dream State. They're doing incredibly well and putting out some huge tunes such as Primrose.

9. Who not?

No one we can think of in particular. We have no burning hate for any other artist.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

When the band started it was scary but the more shows we played, practiced individually and practiced together we became more comfortable on stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Our biggest inspirations are artists such as Enter Shikari, A Day to Remember, Black Sabbath and David Bowie. As a collective, it's Linkin Park. As we were saying earlier they have such a huge arsenal of bangers across their whole career and Chester was a great songwriter and lyricist.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing we would describe as weird. The odd signature on a CD but nobody really asks for anything from us!

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're all a lovely bunch. We're always grateful when people travel to come to see us in other towns.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's cool and we appreciate a site that seems to specialize in pushing unsigned music.
