Interviews: Mankind Grief

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore/Aliencore band Mankind Grief from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band used to have another name and play more like generic deathcore, then we decided to get this alien based role. Later an ex-member had the idea to call us Mankind Grief.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

All band members are more into progressive music and had influence from a lot of bands that we like, so obviously, we thought it was a good idea to mix it with our sci-fi movies taste and create something different.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, the band was made by Francesc (guitar) and any of us were in. The last incorporation was Isaac (vocals). Finding members was one of the reasons making this album was so hard.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Josep: Deftones.

Marc: Korn

Francesc: Cattle Decapitation

Isaac: Architects

Noah: Gojira

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

There’s a lot of things that inspire us on the writing process, not just Music at all. We listen to a lot of bands and we’re also into videogames, sci-fi/horror movies… We take what we like from all we listen and what we see in our current days and then we use it to write our songs. Especially if that sounds good to every member of the band.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was with our friends in Phrymerial and Avgrunn in Monasterio, Barcelona. 7. Where would you like to act? AREA 51 PRIVATE SHOW

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Maybe Mark Poida from Aversions Crown or Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation.

9. Whom not?

With the alien that’s in my basement.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, the only members in the band who played in other bands before was Josep and Noah and they were less nervous than the rest, but have stage fright is something usual, I think if you don’t get nervous at the moment you walk into the stage, maybe you are not enjoying it like you should, right?

The bands that inspired us to create our music are Aversions Crown, Cattle Decapitation, Shadow Of Intent, Humanity's Last Breath, Korn, Shokran…

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I don’t know if we have this “fanbase” yet, but

13. What do you think of your fans?

Love them. The day the earth will be destroyed we will carry them in our spaceship 14. What do you think of our site? It’s really nice, is like the encyclopedia of bands! You do a great job, this really helps bands to get popular or simply known!
