Interviews: Cemetery Of Scream

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Doom Metal/Goth Metal band Cemetery Of Scream from Poland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Pivcok: The cemetery is shrouded in silence, silence which is a silent scream of the passing time. Silence is broken only by a falling and fading tear that is human life. This inevitability of loss inspired me to come up with the name.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Olaf: We never planned to maintain a specific genre, we compose as we go with the natural flow of creation. We try to stay true to ourselves no matter where it takes us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Pivcok: As it is in a quite hermetic environment that metal scene is I knew few people that later joined the first line-up. Others came later and stayed or drifted away. Like in the universe stars are born, burst or change and die.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Olaf: There are too many of them to pick one and it wouldn't be honest. Musical fascinations also change with time. I can point Opeth, Type O Negative, Dead Can Dance, The Queen, but there are many, many others.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Olaf: The cycle of death and rebirth, this wonderful poetry of mother nature is something i hold dear. Loss and love also make good ground for a song especially when they come from a personal experience.

6. Where was your last gig?

Pivcok: This July we had the honor to play in our hometown Kraków where we and other bands celebrated our friend Edek his 40th birthday. Smashing party, some of us can't remember how they got back home or when. Somebody vomited on my car damn it

7. Where would you like to perform?

Olaf: Anywhere where the beer is warm and women are cold...wait I got the first part wrong.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Pivcok: Krzysztof Klenczon, no doubt.

Olaf: Peter Steele as well. 9. Whom not?

Pivcok: I can think of one but I don't even want to mention his name...

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Olaf: I get this every single time. Sometimes it hits hard sometimes not. This pressure may be a positive if it makes you focused and disconnected from outside troubles. I deal with stage fright by thinking in a positive way while taking deep breaths, try Satori breathing techniques.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Pivcok: A fan from Norway asked if he could come to Poland to one of our rehersals and have a beer with us. And it happened!

12. What do you think of your fans?

Olaf: We love them until they buy our crap and come to see our pathetic gigs.

14. What do you think of our site?

Pivcok: Looks quite informative and easy to navigate with lots of stuff for fans. Hope to see you grow!

15. Something to add?

Olaf: We hope to see from you again when our upcoming album "Oceans" hits the fan. Until then, take it easy.
