Interviews: NOVA
In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band NOVA from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band
name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We all love space, aliens, and astronomy, and got the idea from the word Supernova.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
A lot of our influences played this genre and we wanted to add something different yet familiar to the scene.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
The band formed with just Matt and Diego, who have been best friends for 5 years. Joe Vidal, Derek Crowley, and Nick Lapierre got added later this year.
4. Each band members favorite band?

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Music has always been a HUGE outlet for us so writing about personal experiences really helps us with maintaining a healthy mindset. What’s really awesome is seeing our fans relating and creating a positive outcome from negative experiences.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our first gig is a mini edm fest on September 20, 2019 in Rochester, NY at the Cali brew.
7. Where would you like to act?
We have a huge list of places we want to play, however we really want to Tour in Australia! Nick really wants to meet a Koala
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Post Malone, CURRENTS, Bilmuri, Blink 182, Too Close To Touch and Awaken I Am.
9. Whom not?
With all of the really awesome collaborations that have been happening with music, and everyone being extremely open-minded we don’t want to limit ourselves and not work with other artists due to a different genre or style.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
We all have haha. It’s always a little nerve-racking to be in front of any amount of people, however, when you do something you really love, doing it becomes easy and the “stage fright” turns into energy that feeds off the crowd and vise versa. A great way to get over “stage fright” is to get in the zone, get into that mindset to give the audience the best and strongest show you can.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Counterparts, Spite, Gideon, Crystal Lake, Architects, Dayseeker, Wage War, Fit For A King, SECRETS, Myka Relocate, The Plot In You, Dealer, Slipknot, Bilmuri, Post Malone, Emarosa, and SLAVES
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We haven’t had any weird requests yet, but we’re always open to them Haha.
13. What do you think of your fans?
The response has been incredible, and we couldn’t thank everyone enough for the overwhelming support.
14. What do you think of our site?
Breathing The Core is a great website! It gives bands a chance to gain some exposure as well as answer questions that fans would potentially like to know! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to be a part of Breathing the Core!
