Interviews: Cølliders

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Hardcore/Hardcore Punk band Cølliders from France. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Vince (bass player): Ned wanted a band name ending with -er. I got the idea pretty randomly. I like sciences, universe and poor jokes. So it came in my mind To compare a particle collider such as the CERN and a band making people collide in a pit (plus collision of different music kinds): put All this in a shaker, add some beer rum and collide this, BOOM you get our band name : Colliders 

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Vince: I didn't, I swear ! I was just in To play some Rihanna stuffs but that was trap.

Ned (vocalist): Seriously, I always wanted to mix my favorite genres which are Pop Punk and Melodic Hardcore. We all have different influences so it came quite naturally!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Vince: only ned. He was looking for guitarists so I Said that I was a bassist whom just wanted To sing. Ended playing bass. Makes sense.

Ned: I knew the other guys (Vince and Tony the drummer since we shared scene several times with our previous bands. Alex (guitar player) is an old time friend of ours.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Vince: really hard, some of my favorite bands for years are pure hardcore band such as Streetlight Manifesto and The Menzingers haha! But i love comeback kid, A wilhelm scream, Fake Off, Heavy Heart and these past months Tiny Moving Part.

Ned: Touché Amoré, Letlive.

Alex: Defeater, Counterparts, Worthwhile

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Ned: Alex composed the biggest part of the music. He usually comes to us with new riffs. I write the lyrics. I'm mostly inspired by the everyday life. I'd like to convey a positive message.

6. Where was your last gig?

La Matrice (an independent venue in Nice)

7. Where would you like to act?

Vince: Anywhere. 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Vince: Powder. (RIP). Seriously, way To many bands to be listed.

Ned: Every band we mentioned before!

9. Whom not?

Vince: Rammstein...

Ned: I don't have any limits about that. I just want to write the best music!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Vince: I think everyone experienced it at a moment or Another. But it's part of the game. Just think that you are like anybody in this room, it's just that tonight you are holding an instrument and try to have as much fun as you can. Tomorrow it Will be one of your mate in the front row that Will take the stage with his/her band. But we're no expert, we also are learners!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Ned: every band we mentioned as our favorites but also all our friends who make the scene alive by touring, organizing shows etc...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

FAN (see next question for more informations): how did you learn To play bass ? 

Me: Play wut ???

13. What do you think of your fans?

Vince: not sure if we really have some...
