Interviews: Hellixxir

In this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal/Black Metal/Death Metal band Hellixxir from France. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The word Hellixxir is a combination of various words and significations. 1st, it comes from the word Elixir, which is a magical or medicinal potion ; 2nd Hell, the spiritual realm of evil and suffering, 3rd XXI means the 21st century in which we live now. So we could define it as the Hell in which we all live today, and Hellixxir could be the only remedy.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Since I was a child I wanted to play in a metal band. It is a question of passion and taste.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes and no. Since 2001 the band line up changed several times. So, speaking about the orginal line up, I can say yes we were friends from school who wanted to play heavy metal together. Nevertheless, if we consider today's current line up, we are also friends but we met through the local rock/metal scene.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Death, Opeth, Megadeth, Testament, Marduk, Dark Funeral, Vader, Satyricon, Belphefor, Entumbed, Slayer ...

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Mainly life and today's society, what it means to be an human being. Sadness, loneliness and pain we can feel sometimes in our lives. Our songs are a bit on the dark side, the inside conflict we all have to live with.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was in Grenoble- France - at Le Dock, a well known underground place from the local people.

7. Where would you like to act?

Around France and Europe mainly.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Marduk, Dark Throne, Testament, Exodus, Vader, Hate ...

9. Whom not?

I don't know, maybe french radio trendy music like M. Pokora, Maître Gims, all this shit we hear on the radio many times a day!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No, I don't think so. We love being on stage, we feel happy and free. You should ask us the same question but when we are at work. For beginners : just feel the music, be prepared by practicing as much as you can with your band mates, and do not be stressed on stage, it's just music and well being!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Testament, Van Halen, it is quite an easy answer, but it is for sure true, it comes from our teenage years.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

This question should be asked to my singer Alexandre, he always has so funny experiences and memories.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We can say fans and friends, they are the best, they support us for so many years now. As we are a small local band, we still have a nice proximity with them, which is very rewarding.

14. What do you think of our site?

It looks nice but I admit I didn't take time to go through it yet, will do very soon for sure!

15. Something add?

Thank you very much for this interview and come with us into The Black Fortress! You will discover our musical universe as a complete world.
