Interviews: Black Palle

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal/Rock band Black Palle from Finland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The story behind the name went like this ... (Black Palle`s singer) Palle Wishbone had (even before band) Someday thought of making "black metal" under the name "Black Palle". (like a one-man band) Or so he always told and threatened to do... But, the whole thing was more of a Palle`s story / a joke). He really would never have made any black metal... Anyway... Palle eventually ended up singing in our band and at some point, we tried to come up with a name for the band. Many names were suggested, but all the good names were already in use. Finally, I Suggested the name Black Palle! That Palle`s Imaginary black metal band..? What about Black Palle?! That's good! And that was it! Black Palle doesn't really mean anything. Except maybe in the Italian language ...:D Of course, it represents this attitude of Ours, and the monster name on the debut album covers is also called Black Palle. The same Monster (the Black Palle) is probably found in the album covers also in the future.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I don't think about genres when I do music. The starting point was Of course just to make good music and most songs became like this. Next time who knows what's coming...:D And that's the whole idea of the ”job”. Always a new Imagination trip... You never know what to get. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes. I've known Igor (bass) age of five and K. T. (drums) from the age of 17. I got to know singer Palle Wishbone (vox) years later. I knew him before when I asked him to be a singer. So Yes. 

4. Each band member's favorite band?

I think each of us listen to music extensively. For example, I am a fan of the Rolling Stones, Stray Cats and Duran Duran. But if we're talking only about the metal genre, then for example something like this: - Igor likes everything progressive: Opeth, Amorphis, Mastodon... - K.T. is more of a classic rock / metal fan: Deep Purple, Dio... - Palle mostly likes metal: Iron Maiden, C.O.B, Sentenced... - I'm a fan of all kinds of cool stuff: Judas Priest, Ghost, Power Trip... etc, etc... 

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Nothing special. It's fun and I get good vibes from it. I'm a BIG music fan / nerd and making Black Palle music is a part of this music lifestyle. Music has always been very important to me. So perhaps the answer is passion.

At Hellsinki

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere...

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Ghost!  

9. Whom not?

I don't know... 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I don't think so. A little excitement is good. Of course, the experience will ease the tension. A couple of beers if nothing else helps...

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

(Me personally) Maybe all the best and, therefore, the biggest bands: AC / DC, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Rolling Stones etc... And pretty big ones: Ghost, Dinosaur Jr, Ramones, Uriah Heep for example. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Uuhhmmmmgggbbbrrooh..say what...?!? (A little bit drunk)
