Interviews: HYPERIA

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the   Death Metal/Thrash Metal band HYPERIA from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We had a huge list of potential band names, we basically wanted something that is easy to remember and suits our music. Hyperia is kind of a combination of the words "Hyper" and "Hysteria" which describes our style.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

All of us love thrash metal, we all grew up listening to bands like Overkill and Anthrax and all love the energy that Thrash Metal emits.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all mostly met through the music scene in Calgary. Some of us knew each other beforehand as well

4. Each band member favorite band?

Marlee - Fleshgod Apocalypse

Colin - Havok

Dave - Iron Maiden

Scott - Whitesnake

Jordan - Biggie Smalls

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our new album circles around the idea of being trapped in an insane asylum. Musically a lot of influences come from messing around on a guitar, negativity draws a lot of creativity out as well

6. Where was your last gig?

It was a Halloween show we played at a local bar called The Blind Beggar

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play Japan one day.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Havok, Municipal Waste, Unleash the Archers, Nickelback

9. Whom not?

Arianna Grande

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Every show gives everyone a little stage fright, 1 or 2 beers definitely helps. I find that the anxiety goes away almost instantly once we start playing.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Municipal Waste, Sinergy, Havok

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Hot tub party.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They kick ass! Always energetic and ready to party.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's awesome, great to see a website supporting metal bands worldwide.

15. Something to add?

Our new album INSANITORIUM will be released via Sliptrick Records on January 14, 2020. We also just released our new Music Video for "ASYLUM" recently, check it out! Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far, we hope to come play for you all one day soon!
