Interviews: Our Sorrows

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Our Sorrows from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We talk internally about a lot of world and life issues, and during one of those talks, the name just came to Chris. We sat on it for a bit and then it just made sense every time we came back to it.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It can be aggressive and beautiful at the same time, for us it’s such a great platform to be passionate in at all forms.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Chris and Cameron being brothers, they’ve known each other for a while. Austin, Cameron, and Chris were in a band called Silence when they were younger. Kyle and Chris met at a Magic: The Gathering event, and it was all history from there.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Chris – AC/DC

Kyle - Nightwish

Austin - Trash Boat

Cameron - Blink 182

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Such a hard place to start. A lot of it comes from personal experience, and what we see going on in the world around us.

6. Where was your last gig?

We actually start our schedule of playing out in February 2020, and that first gig will be in Ocala, Florida

7. Where would you like to perform?

Europe/Asia is a huge dream of ours, but honestly, we just want to perform in front of passionate fans.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

This could be a long list, but we’ll try to condense it. The Ghost Inside, A Day To Remember, Of Machines (please get back together. We miss you.)

9. Whom not?

Man, that’s just wrong.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think stage fright is about as common as it gets. You just have to make yourself uncomfortable until you’re comfortable with it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We’d have to say For The Fallen Dreams, The Amity Affliction, Memphis May Fire.. Then there’s the obvious similarities that we have with bands like The Jackson 5, Backstreet Boys, and Gwen Stefani

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I’ll never forget the guy that asked for a free shirt if he could kick himself in the head eighty times in a minute.

13. What do you think of your fans?

THEY’RE AWFUL… Could you imagine? No, they’re incredible. We’ve had the pleasure of having such a supportive community from day one and we look forward to seeing that grow. Thank you guys so much, we have all the love in the world for you and we look forward to the rest of 2020 with you guys standing beside us!

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s obvious how passionate you guys are about new music of so many genres and that’s so killer. We’ve found some cool artists for our own personal playlists like Liars & Thieves. (I’m Alive goes so hard!)
