Interviews: Solve The Nodus

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band Solve The Nodus from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Dan lost a child to miscarriage and his mental health deteriorated, he became homeless and wanted to end it all but made a choice to continue, he found music was his solution and his therapy so he did some research and stubbles across the word “Nodus” meaning “intricate problem” so the name “Solve The Nodus” was born. The name means everything to all of us as it’s our escapism. We also get to help a lot of people out who feel like we do and are going through what we have, we just want to inspire and heal. Our happiness is making others happy.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It just happened if we’re honest, we had no genre in mind and we never aim to write to a genre we just pour our soul into the music and it comes out how it comes out!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Dan didn’t know any of the boys but they were all in college together studying music production.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Dan: people may hate me for saying it but lost profits (the music not the singer as a person)

Ben: it changes all the time but currently it’s monuments

Luke: Foo Fighters or Paramore

Jordan: Enter Shakiri

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everything in life, mostly each other and the situations we get in!

6. Where was your last gig?

We gig a couple of times a week so I’m sure by the time this comes out we’d have played more shows so I will say our residency venue the Angel Inn in Southampton as we are there once a month performing and three times a month hosting different events!

7. Where would you like to perform?

Every venue in the world no matter how big or small!

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

J Hurley from hacktivist!

9. Whom not?

Anyone who isn’t in it for the love of the music!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We all have stage fright every show, but we tell each other we believe in each other and hug it out before the show and remind ourselves courage isn’t being fearless, it’s being fearful and still pushing yourself to do it!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I would say music has inspired us the most as there are so so many bands and artists to mention! Music is an inspiration!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

For Dan to wear underwear bought by them and to give them back after. He politely declined haha

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are everything to us, our family, our driving force and without them we would get half the gigs or any of the streams! Thank you so much!

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s very edgy and catchy with great artwork and content! Well put together! You should be very proud of it!
