Interviews: Execution Day

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Execution Day from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name?

The band name came from basically what we were going through at the creation of the band, we were just ready to give our dreams a shot, and execute everything we’ve always dreamt about.

2. What drew you to metalcore?

We all love metalcore and have listened to the genre for years. For us, it’s about the emotion, and the feelings you can grasp ahold of, when you hear the lyrics.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

When the band was formed we all knew each other for a few years, and have been playing in local bands around our hometown together.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Dylan- A Day to Remember

Alec - We Came as Romans

Sam- Of Mice and Men

Zack- Ice nine kills

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Personal struggles are mostly what we write about. When listing to music what always hits home and impacts us the most is when we can relate to the topic, and lyrics of songs.

6. Tell us about your favorite gig?

Our favorite gig to date was oddly enough a basement show in cinci, the basement actually belongs to our good friend Q. It’s just one of those moments where your playing in a basement packed with kids, and everyone is having just as much fun being in the crowd, as we are playing.

7. Where is your dream venue?

Our dream venue would have to be selling out mr smalls theatre in Pittsburgh. So many of our favorite bands come through, and to be able to sell that out, would be awesome.

8. Whom would you love to collaborate with?

There are so many great artist we would love to collaborate with but to name a few, Rory from dayseeker, Dave Stephens from We Came as Romans, and Tyler career.

9. Have there been any famous collaborations that you really dug?

We actually love the marshmallow and ADTR collaboration

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

When we first stared out I remember always being super nervous, but now I just get so excited and that out what’s the stage fright.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We all take a lot from different artists and different genres so to name only a few, wouldn’t be fair.

12. Can you tell us more about the new single?

Was the video shot with a green screen or did you really find some insanely awesome landscape to shoot it? Yeah so the new video was shot by our good friend Kyle Hines, and it was green screen. We had a blast filming the video, it was our whole crews first green screen video and we love how it turned out.

13. Any plans for a new record?

We have a new EP coming out in the next few months, can’t give away the date just yet but we will have another new single and video out in less than a month, but that’s about all we can say

14. Anything else to add?

We just want end this by thanking everyone who’s supported us over the last 4 years, and everyone who continues to make us feel like we’re making a difference.
