Interviews: Funeral Cult

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Doom Metal/Black Metal band Funeral Cult from Poland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The only plan was that we wanted to have a name with two words. We’ve chosen the best ones in our opinion at that time. Of course it matches to our music very well.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We liked to hear slow and intense music and we were far from making it fast and going rapidly ahead. We’ve just grew up with it.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We come from one city, so we knew each other a little bit. But there was no friendship or something like that.

4. Each band member favourite band?

We don’t have any favourite bands. We hear a lot of different music generes and styles, even non metal.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

An invoice for rehearsal room?! 😊 To be honest the inspiration is around us. It could be a movie, a book, an event or nature itself. Sometimes we suffer from making a song and sometimes we do one in a few hours. The same with lyrics.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig we’ve played was at MAGNETOFON club in our home city, Lodz. It used to be a regular concert but in fact it was birthday party of one of our fans. Maybe the same performance like many others but new experience for us.

7. Where would you like to act?

We will consider any proposal given. We didn’t play at any open air festival. I think we should try it.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Is that really important? I think it has no meaning for us now.

9. Whom not?

I don’t konw if there is any metal genere or a band we wouldn’t play with. We are very polite and non arguing guys. We’d like to have fun from our stage activity.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Each one show is different from another. Even if played at the same place again. You can have different sound engineer who makes the same stage different, even difficult. So, we suffer stage fright at all times but basicaly we are just worrierd if we sound as good as it is posible in given conditions. If I can give any tip, I would say that you should use as best as you can and as long as you can your time for a sound check. If you go off stage after sound check pretty confident it lowers stage fright for sure. But in the end, I as vocalist, always need a sip of water for dry mouth before I go on stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

People say My Dying Bride, Celtic Frost, Anathema… I don’t know. It could be true.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

No such thing happened yet.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Dedicated people for many years. Hope we earn many more after reactivation. Young ones….

14. What do you think of our site?

Clear and simple. And simple is good. Good job! But the most important, you support what we love – music!!!

15. Something add?

Stay on track, keep supporting! Hope we go back to you with full album soon. But for now find our EP „Possession Done” at Lusitanian Music store and other channels. Find us on Facebook and Youtube. Stay in touch. Cheers from Poland!
