Interviews: Hot Sunday Blood

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock/Grunge band Hot Sunday Blood from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The idea came out following a bad day mood. The “hot blood” is the feeling that you have when something is not quite right. Maybe you don’t even know what’s wrong, simply you feel like you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sunday is just a good day to get pissed off, for many different reasons.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

There is no answer to this question. We did not decide to play “this genre", we just wanted to play. What you hear is simply what comes out from our instruments, but for sure our influences play a big role. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

As often happens, you rely on people you already know when you’re about to start a new project. Anyway, not all of us knew each other when we started.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Andrea (voice) - Type O Negative

Marco (guitar) - Smashing Pumpkins

Carlo (drums) - Faith no More

Andy (guitar) - Marilyn Manson

Paolo (bass) - maybe Opeth 

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Lyrics come out following our past lives moods and happenings. The music often relies on playing something we heard before and then arranging and modifying as per our taste. 

6. Where was your last gig?

In our hometown, Turin in Italy! 

7. Where would you like to act?

May I just answer “anywhere it’s cool”? Lol 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I think the unspoken dream of all of us is to play with our favourite artists to have the opportunity to get to know them and get inspired both musically than from the band management side. 

9. Whom not? 

People without a soul, perhaps? And all the assholes with auto-tune, of course! 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not beyond the acceptable anxiety that comes out when you play in front of many people. An advice? Be extremely prepared and act like a professional. Apart from that, have fun! Because without it nothing else makes sense. 

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We are mostly inspired by grunge and alternative metal scene - let’s say some names… Type O’Negative, Pyogenesis, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Katatonia, but also Foo Fighters, Faith no More and many more from other genres. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Once, after one of our first gigs, a guy suggested us to change the genre in order to be more popular. He said, "you guys mix up too many genres and people get confused by it". 

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are the fuel that powers our passion. As a band our mission is to share what we have to say, they are the receivers of our vibrations so they play a key role in HSB life. 

14. What do you think of our site?

It's cool! We like every site that inves6t its time promoting underground bands!
