Interviews: Kings Never Die

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore band Kings Never Die from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Ha, Well KINGS NEVER DIE was actually My Business Slogan. I own a Clothing Company named KINGS CLOTHING CO. slogan is 'Kings Never Die" and it just stuck, so we used it as the band name

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It's Honestly what comes out of us. When I was younger, everything was, what was funny or what sounded fun... Life is just not that fun all the time when you are in your 40's. As far as music I listen too, Its pretty limited at this point. I basically listen to Sick of it all, Wisdom in Chains and AF, with a few younger bands, Turnstile, Regulate. were I used to listen to alot of different music. When it comes to writing new music, I am still just a product of what comes to me, and of coarse that includes what Im listen to or like at the time

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Ive known Larry for Years, Weve had a mutual friend in Sean Kilkenny (Dog Eat Dog original guitar with myself). Jay and Larry have been friends for years, Everyone knows Steve Gallo. Dylan I had met and seen about 5 years ago. I saw him play in his original band Robots and Monsters and immediately thought of him as the perfect singer/ front man if I had ever put a band together.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Myslef it is Sick of it All , hands down

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

As I said earlier, It really is what ever comes to me. Usually starts with a Vocal line or hook and then I write the music around that. Some times One of us will have a riff that evolves into a piece of music, but most times all starts with a Vocal.

6. Where was your last gig?

Detriot, Michigan

7. Where would you like to act?

Mob Movie, Id be perfect... ha ha

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Steve Gallo.. ha ha

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think Dylan freaked out the first time we played and he saw people literally throwing people into the hallway.. (laughing) . Seriously, It takes time to learn how to play live with new people. The last run of dates we did was Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, and Detroit... I think we got over that hump on that run and found our live identity

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

That's hard to say... We've all played in working bands before. That has inspired us to want to get back to those levels again. I saw Wisdom in Chains play about 2 years ago in Philadelphia when I was playing a few shows for Leeway. WIC was powerful and made the crowd reach and sing along to every word Joe said. That inspired me to write again and probably to get KND going.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

12. What do you think of your fans?

Grateful for Anyone that enjoys the band or our Music. Just Grateful and Appreciate it
