Interviews: LifeCycle

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Alternative Metal band LifeCycle from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

REALLY tough to come up with a band name that isnt taken by some deadbeat. We wrote a song and named it Lifecycle. Then we started searching social media and the possibility of using it was really good. We only found a rap artist who had that name. No bands. We secured http://www.lifecycleband.com and @lifecycleband for all other social media accounts. It worked out but it was NOT easy.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all grew up listening to hard rock and metal. It moves you. I know there is a time and place for Jazz, Classical, Country and electronic but when you fall in love with guitars and guitar driven music, then you have to dive in and write what you love. We love the music we are putting out.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No. No one knew anyone. It was such an odd way to meet and form a band. Scott(bass) hired a singer. Singer found Joe and Kevin(guitars). Singer found John(drummer). We fired the singer. Yep...but we kept together and kept writing. Singers are tough to find. John put an ad on facebook and we hired Asim Rizvi to front the band. It worked soooooo well. Like I said, odd way to get together.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Ha! Way to tough to call. We all like similar music. The band recently saw Iron Maiden and Tool so you can get a glimpse as to what we spend our money on. Our favorite band though.....LifeCycle.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We are inspired by each other. Joe and Kevin have a million guitar riffs and we record them all and keep them. We all sit in a room and kind of put them in order and build a frame. Asim writes the words and then we constantly tweak the song until the song is satisfied. Yes, the song is alive and it totally tells us when enough is enough!

6. Where was your last gig?

Had a great show in Atlantic City NJ with Tantric recently. Great guys. We are back in Atlantic City for the AC Beer and Music Festival on April 3rd playing with New Found Glory. That should be a real killer at the Convention Hall.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Japan, Japan and most likely Japan. Its the band's goal to get there and kick ass....and then repeat, repeat , repeat.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Ghost. Killer band. Great songwriting.

9. Whom not?

J-Lo....kidding. Everyone is included. We wouldn't turn down any acts. There is enough room for everyone's music!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Good question! Not that I have seen or heard about. We spoke together as a band about that before our first big show. Our advice is this: Remember that everyone watching you wants to be on stage doing what you are doing. A good way to beat it is to remember why you are doing it.....love of music. Love of your music will make you forget anyone is watching.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For all of us its different bands....but .....there is a common theme for all the bands that have inspired us. The one common theme is songwriting. The band is inspired by other bands that have great song writing. It is a beautiful thing when that organically happens. Its hard to describe. Also, the band is inspired by horrible song writing. That goes a long way also!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We have been asked this a lot lately! A female fan wanted a lock of hair. I smell a voodoo doll coming!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Deadbeats and hillbillys! Kidding of course. I think our fans are great because they all seem to have a good sense of humor. LifeCycle really doesn't take things seriously at times and our fans understand that and respect it. We respect them also. We totally appreciate anyone who takes time out of their day to listen or watch us.

14. What do you think of our site?

Here is what is great about your site. Access to new bands, new music, free music, music to buy, all over the world. The site is easy to use, loads fast(which is a big plus) and the layout rocks. We were excited to be interviewed and hopefully we can weasel our way onto your Spotify playlist and into your Hearts!!

15. Something to add?
