Interviews: Simplefast

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal band Simplefast from Greece. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Hi Breathing The Core and thank you very much for this interview! We wanted for the band name something unique so we could create our own legacy without any confusion with other band names.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We have many styles that we're moving in between. Heavy Metal and Thrash Metal with some modern elements are the main styles that we play. This is the music that we enjoy the most and this is what comes from within our souls.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Actually no. Hector, Nikolas and Stratos are the core of the band since 2011 and they met each other after an ad on Facebook. Only Panos and Yiannis were playing together before entering Simplefast and they are the latest adds to this family! 

4. Each band member favorite band?

Hector: Metallica

Panos: Ozzy Osbourne

Yiannis: Pink Floyd

Nikolas: Dream Theater

Stratos: Iron Maiden

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The most important source of inspiration is the experiences that we've lived or stories that we have read or heard.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Athens, Greece back in December and it was an amazing night. It was an almost sold out show and we had a great time.

7. Where would you like to act?

All over the world, without a doubt!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Our favourite artists. Any of them (laughs)

9. Whom not?

We don't really have anyone to hate or to not want to play with.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We are really confident on stage. We are performing since we were 16-18 years old, so the stage fright is past. The most important tip for new bands and artists is to practice continuously and enjoy the moment. This is the most important thing to do, so you won't suffer from stage fright.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The biggest inspirations are Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Ghost and pretty much some elements of these artists are very noticable on our music too.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

That's a difficult answer. We have to say although that a guy in Slovakia asked us to sign to his tits. That was a really weird thing to do (laughs).

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are the best and some of them support us for almost 9 years. This year we really want to please them with some tours.

14. What do you think of our site?

Well-organized site and a very good effort to support new bands. Keep going guys!

A message to all the people that are going to read this interview. Always support your local scene and keep an eye on upcoming bands. There are many gems that they just need a good show to change their lives.
