Interviews: Coyote Man

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Progressive Metal/Rock band Coyote Man from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Augie Portugal: We pretty much threw names out there and at the time, Coyote Man sounded the best. So we stuck with it.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Augie Portugal: We never intended to be instrumental. We just never had any luck with singers so we kept it instrumental.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Augie Portugal: I went to high school with Ian. We started jamming during our Junior and Senior year.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Augie - Deftones

Ian - 311

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Augie Portugal: Life in general gives us inspiration whether people or special moments.

6. Where was your last gig?

Augie Portugal: This past October with Brutus at Schubas in Chicago.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Augie Portugal: We would one day love to feature a vocalist on a song or two.

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Ian Wheeler: Always. Take some deep breaths and drink a lot of water.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Augie Portugal: Deftones, The Mars Volta, 311 etc.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Ian Wheeler: Nothing too weird yet. Haha.

12. What do you think of your fans?

Ian Wheeler: Very open-minded people.

13. What do you think of our site?

Ian Wheeler: Very helpful to the entire music scene. We appreciate the support. It's awesome that you guys are donating to No More Wildfires.

14. Something to add?

Ian Wheeler: Catch us this summer playing shows around the midwest and beyond. Our new album 'Precognition' comes out April 20th.
