Interviews: Diamons On Neptune

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Metal band Diamonds On Neptune from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We started the band without a name in mind, but Cam was really into pursuing a space theme, then he heard that it literally rains diamonds on neptune while looking at interesting space facts and thought that had a nice ring to it

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We think the real question is why do we play so many! We don’t like the idea of being tied down by the label of a subgenre. We kind of want to break away from this idea that every band has to fit into a category that we can all name, it's kind of counterintuitive to being creative when your band lives and dies by one genre.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Taylor and Cam started the band, they were complete strangers who met through a Kijiji ad, but each of them brought in other musicians they knew personally when the project got off the ground.

Jared - System of a Down

Cam - My Chemical Romance

Zack - Arch Enemy

Taylor - Sum 41

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We are all pretty passionate about what we do. Taylor has riffs flying around in his head all the time, he can’t help but record demos regularly to get them out. Cameron is jotting down lyrical ideas basically every day, things will just pop into his head and he’s eager to write things down before he forgets them. We just really want to make good music I suppose

6. Where was your last gig?

We headlined a show at Dickens on Feb 28th with support from Die Another Day, A Nobodies Achievement, and Tymo

7. Where would you like to act?

Opening for someone at mac hall would be a delight

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Only the Strong

9. Whom not?

Smash Mouth probably

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

You might be nervous before going up there, but if you really love performing, it'll probably all melt away when you get up there

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

My Chemical Romance, System of a Down, Slipknot, Dance Gavin Dance, Deftones

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Someone tried to fight Cam, I think that counts

Our mothers are very wonderful people
