Interviews: The Stone Eye

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band The Stone Eye from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It sort of just happened. I was making a combination of words in my head and The Stone Eye suddenly stuck out. It was catchy, to the point, and somewhat unique. At least in my opinion.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

No reason- though I wouldn't necessarily place us in one single genre. We just play what we come up with jamming and if we dig it, we make it a song regardless of where it falls within the sphere of said genre(s).

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The drummer, myself, and our other guitar player knew each other from High School. We met our bass player whilst playing out in the Philadelphia music scene.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Jeremiah Bertin (Drummer): Tool

Stephen Burdick (Guitar, Vocals): Alice in Chains

Christian Mechem (Guitar, Vocals): King Crimson,

Wolfgang Noll (Bass): Ty Segall

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Anything. Life haha. Depends on my mood. I never really sit down and write music, it sort of just comes when I decide to pick up the guitar for whatever reason. Whenever I sit down and consciously try and write a tune, nothing ever really comes of it.

6. Where was your last gig?

The Broken Goblet in Bethlehem, PA.

7. Where would you like to act?

Playing the theater circuit some day would be beyond cool.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Michael Buble.

9. Whom not?

Mariah Carey.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I did. I still do if it's a setting that I'm intimidated by for whatever reason (e.g playing an acoustic show for the first time a couple months ago). The key to beating it is alcohol! If you don't wish to go that route though, it's like anything really- you just have to get up and do it. The more you do anything, the more comfortable you get with it to the point where it does not bother you anymore.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For me personally, I cannot say anyone else besides Alice in Chains. Alice in Chains laid down the foundation for what I was to become as a musician- I practically learned guitar jamming to Dirt. My musical tastes have since expanded and changed since I was 12, but without Alice in Chains I do not know if I'd be doing what i'm doing today.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Fans? What fans? We don't have fans!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Just kidding. Anyone who supports our music in even the slightest way has my utmost respect and gratitude. Without them we wouldn't be where we are today.
14. What do you think of our site?

It's pretty stylish! I wouldn't change a thing- ya'll are on to something.

15. Something add?

We hope everyone has been enjoying Ventura as much as we enjoyed making it. Check our tour dates and keep an eye out for future announcements! We'll be in a city near you within the not too distant future.
