Interviews: Dead Reynolds

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band Dead Reynolds, from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We started the band and hadn’t got a name and as usual threw a million names around that some people liked and others didn’t! I had heard the news about Burt Reynolds dying and made the comment “have you all heard about old Dead Reynolds?” It stuck from there and whilst I (DOM) wasn’t a fan at the start, I love it now!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We have all been brought up on a diet of Rock! Some of us are more Alt rock others Pop Punk and some are a bit classic rock so our sound is a hybrid of them all. All your favourite bands mixed into one – Dead Reynolds

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Pretty Much. We have all played in bands on the Cambridge/Peterborough/Norfolk rock circuit and have either supported each other or had close links with bands through studios we use or rehearsal space. Some of the lads also live in the same towns so knew each other so it was an easy decision to get the lads together.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Luke R - AlterBridge

Dom – Manic Street Preachers

Callum – A Day to Remember

Ben – Van Halen

Luke G – Blink 182

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Dom is the main song writer and comes up with an idea on an acoustic guitar and puts lyrics to it. The band then shape it up into the track you eventually hear. The songs are all from the heart and are experiences we have had or lessons we have learnt

6. Where was your last gig?

Just a couple of weeks ago before the virus stopped all events. It was an all day show at a venue in Norfolk with 7 other bands. Great vibe. 200 strong crowd.

7. Where would you like to play?

Anywhere and everywhere!! We love playing live whether its to 10 people or 10,000! An iconic venue would be cool - troubadour club in the UK or The states!

8. Who would you like to support?

Any of the bands above would be fine with us!!! A Day to remember would suit everyone!

9. Who not?

No-one springs to mind!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really, however we all get a bit jittery before going on but its channelling the nerves into excitement and doing the very best job you can and not letting it affect your performance

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Manic Street preachers / Van Halen / A Day to remember / Feeder / Of Mice and Men

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Signing underwear is still a thing!! Signing Apples and Bananas!! Signing everything in fact

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are awesome. We have some that will come to any show no matter where it is. We have an amazing couple who are more mature in their years (they wont mind me saying that!) who travel all over to come see us and always buy merch, Really lovely people who we are priviledged to play for!!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's great and really important to bands as you cover pretty much every genre of rock so there is something for everyone!!! We have found some new fave bands by having a truck around the site. You just need more Dead Reynolds on there!!

15. Something to add?

These times are testing and the last few weeks have seen the world change beyond recognition however, music will see us through. There is so much passion in lyrics, riffs, breakdowns and chorus’s! Let it take you away if only for 3mins40secs and we will get through this! Rock on!
