Interviews: Psycle

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Psycle, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

When I first started the band, we had entered a Battle of the Bands. When the promoter came up to us at another event and asked us for the flyer, everyone looked at me hahah. I always like the Psychology of things and Philosophy. Psycle to me meant what you put into the world or universe will always come back to you.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It was just natural based on my influences. I can’t say that I have ever tried to fit into a certain genre. To me the best music is always written when you allow it to be natural. When you force things, the audience will know you aren’t being genuine

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I knew my drummer Jay for 16 years before this line up. Jay was the 2nd drummer ever in the band. Our bass player Mike and I had developed a friendship when we share a few bills with previous bands. Our guitarist Joe was the greatest Craigslist acquisition of all time hahaha. I am the luckiest person in the world to be in a band with these guys.

4. Each band member favorite band?

This is so hard! I will say that our influences range from 80’s metal to Dead Kennedys, to Black Sabbath to Seattle Grunge.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

As far as the music goes, I think we inspire each other. We all write the music together and there are no bounds. Drummers write guitar parts, bass players come up with drum fills etc. For the lyrics, I am lucky that the guys trust me to write the words. My inspirations usually come from how the melodies develop and what they represent to me and my life. It’s not always my experience but what I see, hear, taste and feel from others.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was at a venue called Boneheads Live in Fall River, MA

7. Where would you like to act?

I’ll tell you; my bucket list is to play at Red Rocks

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would love to play with Alter Bridge on a huge scale but if it wasn’t on that scale it would be with Black Top Mojo who are going to blow up more than they already have.

9. Whom not?

I’ll play with anyone, any genre any time. It’s really more about the fans than it is who you play with. It does make it better when you connect with the other bands though.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I personally haven’t had stage fright but I did throw up on stage mid show. Completely embarrassing but we just kept playing and played an amazing 10-minute version of Jumpin Jack Flash!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For me, The Beatles, Queen and Elton John were my first 2 influences in music

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I actually had two girls fight over a gallon water jug I was drinking out of. Then over the cap…. strange

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are family…period. Without them, what are we even doing

14. What do you think of our site?

To have an opportunity to have other so invested in the music scene I don’t think I have enough words to thank. We need our community to come together and you provide an amazing platform for that. Thank you

15. Something you'd like to add?

Please go buy our new record “Kill the Machine” …listen to our record and share it with everyone!
