Interviews: Dialekt

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Nu-Metal band Dialekt from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band originally consisted of 2 Poles, a Greek and a Brit. Sounds the start of an awful joke but they were the foundation of Dialekt. The name was just figured to be apt given the multinational core of the band

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We grew up with Nu Metal, it's in our blood. We all saw the amazing potential of nu metal as agents and we want to bring it back into the forefront of the metal scene. Its time will come again.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Not at all. Mat and Mariusz have been with the band from very early on, Matt applied to the band after Aaron's departure in 2017, and Jamie after Dom left a while later.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Forever changing, well mostly…

Matt - Loathe

Mat - Metallica

Mariusz - While She Sleeps

Jamie - Avenged Sevenfold

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I imagine it's the same for everyone really. A lot of the lyrics are an expression of anger or hopelessness from important events, one or two are messages to the world about important issues that we're seeing in our lifetime. 6. Where was your last gig?  The last gig we played was actually HRH Metal IV at the O2 in Birmingham. Our biggest yet!

7. Where would you like to perform?

The music scene in the US is notoriously hard to get into. I think being booked to play in the states would be a good measure of how far we've come.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

We're currently completing for a chance to play with Evil Scarecrow. We'd seen them at HRH too and they are incredible, visually as well as musically.

9. Whom not?

No offense to the guys in Drunk on Tuesday but I think we'd best stick to our own scene. It was such a fun gig in reality but joining in on a night with a funk/soul band was a little bit weird

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Honestly, none of us have really frozen up. The main thing to remember is that you're there for a reason. You want to put on a display of your creation for an audience. Just have belief in your craft and be sure that they'll love it… and they will.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Well, name anyone playing nu metal or metalcore and you've got an answer. Definitely for me the peripherals of these two genres were just as important as the bands in the spotlight.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

It won't have been weird for them but it's a bit surreal the first time someone asks you for a photo to make someone else jealous their friend had seen us first. The kisses aren't so bad though.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're amazing, every one of them. They're always so supportive and energetic and those of them we've asked for feedback have been open and honest about what we could do better as a band. We appreciate it!

14. What do you think of our site?

In love with the amount of quality content you have on there, and excited to be a part of it
