Interviews: Desecrate

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Death Metal band, Desecrate, from Turkey. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

When we founded the band, we hade several name suggestions, when we voted them the name 'Desecrate' had 3 votes over 5.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

When we started writing our own music, our playing style and musical taste led us to play melodical death metal.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Yes, we knew each other for about 20 years except our current vocalist Oktay Demirci has joined us 2016.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Akcan Ergin(Drums): Cannibal Corpse

Vahit Tanık(bass): Death Oğuz

Bulgurlular(Guitar): Slayer

Batuhan Bulgurlular(Guitar): In Flames

Oktay Demirci(Vocals): Suicide Silence

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Our life experiences is our main inspiration. But whiskey helps a lot!

6. Where was your last gig? 

It was in Istanbul on 30 November 2019.

7. Where would you like to act? 

Any big festival that will took place on Europe or on the USA

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Playing on the same stage with Amon Amarth would be great!

9. Whom not? 

"Who the hell is Justin Bieber" 

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We all had stage fright on our first couple of shows. Watch and observe as many shows and give as many concert as you can and practice a lot, eventually you will beat it. And don't be afraid to make errors on stage, even the biggest bands can make mistakes on stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

We are mostly inspired by Amon Amarth, In Flames, Dark Tranquility and Arch Enemy.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

To be honest we didn't had any weird request.

13. What do you think of your fans?

When we look at the data on the music platforms, we see that we have fans all around the world from Singapore to Brazil etc. etc. They are very loyal and follow us on the social media. As we announced our new album, we received a lot of supportive messages. Their support means a lot for us.
