Interviews: Bloodfeast Ritual

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal band, Bloodfeast Ritual, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Finding a correct band name took close to 2 weeks. We just kept going through obscure horror movies until we found “Bloodfeast.” From there, we added “Ritual” to give it a sort of Lovecraft/other worldly twist and BOOM - Bloodfeast Ritual

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

To me, death metal has been a combination of grand musical expression and extreme emotion. It’s a place where I can push my guitar playing to the limit, as well as experience the darker side of life.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I knew Hunter for a brief time before he joined the band. David was introduced to me in a musical setting where he expressed interest in joining the group.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Michael Bala - Iron Maiden

David Ainsworth - Dio (or anything featuring Dio)

Hunter Gurney - Queen

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

A lot of things, usually! Sometimes I want to work on a particular technique or musical idea; other times I just want to make something heavy and ugly. Lyrically, the inspiration usually stays between 80s horror movies and HP Lovecraft.

6. Where was your last gig?

Technically, we haven’t had a first gig yet.

7. Where would you like to act?

It doesn’t matter where I’m just happy to play tunes that I’m proud of!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

An ultimate dream is playing with Iron Maiden, but maybe a more reachable dream is playing a show with Christian Muezner, who’s my favorite guitarist in metal.

9. Whom not?

I’ll be happy to play with anyone!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright is pretty natural, but can be overcome with time. Practice hard and eventually, the confidence comes with it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

All sorts of bands, but for me personally, a shortlist would include Racer X, Iron Maiden, Black Dahlia Murder, Spawn of Possession, Obscura, Arsis, Opeth, Mercyful Fate, Suffocation, Morbid Angel, Demilich…the list goes on and on.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Back with my old band Black Trip, I once signed a beer can because the gentleman said my signature would improve the taste of the beer inside.

13. What do you think of your fans?

To anyone that has listened to us or said a kind word, I appreciated it more than you could ever know. Making music has been a life long dream of mine, and it’s very exciting to see people enjoy it.

14. What do you think of our site?

The structure of the site and interviews on it are all fantastic!

15. Something add?

Practice your instrument, be musical, and be proud of the musician you are.
