Interviews: Dead Tree Seeds

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal band, Dead Tree Seeds, from France. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Alex: before Dead Tree Seeds, the band was named Triakanthos. it 's a tree (Gleditsia triacanthos). In 2010, the band exposed and there were just Nico and me. We decide to continue the project but with another name and Nico find the idea of Dead Tree Seeds because the band was formed on the seeds of a dead Triacanthos.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Franzoua: Thrash metal is music with a lot of energy. It 's very exciting to play this kind of music, especially in live. It's very difficult to answer because we like most of the Metal styles. Simply we love it! Thrashhhhhhhh !!!!!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Alex: just Sidi and me, we're friend for a long time. For the other members, thank you internet lol

4. Each band member favourite band?

Alex: Just one is very difficult but since I listen metal it's Slayer.

Franzoua: There are lot of bands that I like. If I had to choose one it would be Coroner.

Aurel: It's hard I love a lot of bands, but the bay area thrash band (Metallica, Testament, Exodus etc), the new wave of thrash (Evile, Warbringer, Havok...) are my main influences. And I also love instrumental guitar players (Paul Gilbert, Marty Friedman, etc...)

Sidi: Gorod, Napalm Death, Slayer. Frank

Vortex: Exodus, Kreator (early), Immortal, Megadeth, Death, Voivod, Mercyful Fate...

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Aurel: I take my guitar, I jam trying to find ideas, sometimes you've got a good inspiration it's fast. But sometimes it's not lol If I love a song of one of my favorite bands, maybe I can be inspired (for example by the structure of this song ) to build my own song with all my riffs. It depends on my current mood.

6. Where was your last gig?

Aurel: we played for the release party of Hatred Dusk at the Klub in Paris in December 2019. Then a lot of gigs was cancelled because of the covi19.

7. Where would you like to act?

Aurel: Everywhere, the goal is to have fun on stage and meet new people and crazy thrashing maniacs!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Franzoua: It would be a real pleasure to opening or feature with Thrash bands like Testament, Kreator, Exodus, Evile, Havok and obviously Slayer. But unfortunately for Slayer it will only remain a dream.

9. Whom not?

Alex: there is no band which we doesn't want to play with. We hope to meet good person every time it's possible and when it's happening, it's really fucking great. Just we're here to have a good time and to give a good time to everyone who come to our shows.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Frank Vortex: At the beginning, at the first concerts, I had little stage fright , but after that, over time I thought the most important thing was to concentrate on the music and give the best. If you have the stage fright, I suggest you try to get into trans as if there were no one in front of you; be in total symbiosis, just you and the music.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Franzoua: It depends on many things. In my case, it was important to listen and analyze various artists to build my identity. A lot of guitarists inspired me like Jeff Hanneman, James Hetfield, Tommy vetterli, Eric Peterson, Chuck Shuldiner. The list could be even longer.

Aurel: maybe Metallica, I fall in love with Thrash Metal genre the first time I heard Master of puppets, and it's for this reason I started playing guitar.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Frank Vortex: the weirdest thing has asked me a fan was to kiss him on the mouth but unfortunately I’m not gay.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Sidi: They are cooling, and we want to thanks us for their support.

14. What do you think of our site?

Frank Vortex: Breathing the core is a site not only for “core” music but surprisingly every kind of metal is represented. This site is a simple and amazing means to discover bands from all over the world. The advantage for the bands if you need a promotion with BTC this service is free. There are no frontiers; personally, I discovered a fantastic Thrash band from Chile: RAINING and their fabulous last album SATAN IMPERIUM.

15. Something add?

DTS: We would like to thank your team, our label (music records) and those who support us.
