Interviews: Mynskh

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band, Mynskh, from Austria. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It stems from a nightmare I had as a child. In this dream I saw a horrifying being, dragging it's ever- changing body over an enormous, black city. The next day I woke up with the word Minsk in my head. Many years later, after I started playing music in various bands, I remembered this moment and decided to call my solo-project that I was working on at this time, MYNSKH.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Because I love dark, heavy music. There are no rules, its dramatic, passionate, insane, and can take you away from this shitty reality that holds us hostage. I just play my interpretation of those aspects. It comes out of me in that way.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

To clarify something: I see this project more as a collective than a band. There are many musicians involved in the creation of those albums and its impossible to have them in a band together. My drummer, Chris Grabner is an integral part of the core musicians, since he is the order to my chaos, takes care of production/engineering, etc.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Too many to list them all. But we listen to all kinds of music.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Pretty simple: everything. Existence. Although when it comes to MYNSKH, I have a pretty acurate vision of what atmosphere I am chasing.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last concert was in January 2017. We organized an interesting evening with some bands/artists from different genres. Darkness as a common denominator.

7. Where would you like to act?

You mean perform with MYNSKH? Vienna State Opera with full orchestra, choir and an array of machines.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I am in the great position of working with amazing musicians and artists already. Very blessed.

9. Whom not?

If he/she/it can give its passion to the vision - they are all welcome.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Honestly, I never had stage fright. I even faked it in the beginning, cause i thought it's mandatory to have. I was/am a weird creature.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Too many to name but I am a huge fan of Neurosis and Mike Patton.

12. What do you think of our site?

It's a great portal for finding new underground bands. Awesome work.

13. Something add?

Music is a whore and we all are her suitors. Thanks for the interview.
