Interviews: The Midnight Preachers

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Rock band, The Midnight Preachers, from Ireland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name was a gift from the Universe. We had been looking for something that provided us with the right imagery, connotations etc. In some respects, it even helped lay out the road in front of us - in terms of how we wanted to tell our story through our music.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We’re big fans of southern rock bands like Skynyrd and this style of music was our attempt to take old school hard rock and add a modern twist to it. We find that this style of music is what comes out naturally.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

For a couple of months.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Emer: Queen

Eoghan: The Doors

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life events, inspiration… being our own therapists essentially. There’s something special about getting your own personal experiences out into the world and finding that people are relating.

6. Where was your last gig?

Pre-pandemic! February 2020.

7. Where would you like to act?

All the big ones…. MSG, Wembley….

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

QSTA, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC…

9. Whom not?

Anyone who doesn’t enjoy Freddie Mercury as much as we do.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes. Take deep breaths and try to realise that people are there because they want to see you for who you are. People want you for you, and it will get easier and easier. We’re constantly learning. It never stops.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Doors…

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Tickets to one of our gigs! (lol)

13. What do you think of your fans?

We have received so much support over the last few years and we are so grateful for every ticket bought, every cd bought… every social media like / follow…

14. What do you think of our site?

FANTASTIC! To support upcoming bands in this way is great… We love the name too… It makes you want to find out more, and when you discover the purpose of the site it makes a lot of sense… As musicians, we are lucky that such a site exists. Keep up the amazing work.

15. Something you'd like to add?

Just a huge *THANK YOU* to everyone at BreathingTheCore.com We’re very grateful for the support. We hope that everyone with you and your families is healthy and safe during this strange time.
