Interviews: Mojo Alice

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Rock band, Mojo Alice, from New Zealand. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

Mojo is for the blues influence, the flecks of voodoo, beats, balls & guitar riffs you’ll find in our songs. Alice (reflective of Alice in Wonderland ) is for the storytelling. Together - it just sounds weird enough to stick in your head and inevitably, that's what we want!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Rock, blues and metal is really the main music I like, None of that Pop shit - and this is the perfect blend of them all!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I have been mates with Matty for over 10 years raising hell as drinking buddies, but never played in a band together. I didn’t know Jem & Morpheus – but I sure am glad to have met them!

4. Each band member favorite band?

I’m gonna have to take a stab at this for the others…Morpheus will be Motorhead because Lemmy is god.

Jem: Meatloaf because of the story telling in the lyrics, Matty ill go with Pantera or Lamb of God just because hes a mad dog! And mine changes daily – today its ACDC 

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We just like to write good Stomp rock….catchy rock riffs with groove!

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was In Wellington opening for “The Feelers” who are a successful band from New Zealand. It was a lot of fun! 

7. Where would you like to perform? 

Ozzfest would be awesome, any of those big festivals like Download etc.. would be wicked!

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

ZZ Top, those guys are just legends!

9. Whom not? 

Anyone in the top 40!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think everyone gets a bit nervous from time to time which is normal. But as far as stage fright is concerned everyone is good! If ever I was nervous I tried to remember than 99% of people in the crowd wish they could be you playing on stage and that helped.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

ACDC, ZZ Top, Pantera, Guns n Roses

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Hmmm, nothing to weird yet… but I can’t wait for the day it does!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our Mojo Mofo’s are the best! Its super fun talking and getting to know them. Social media has made it really easy to communicate with fans all over the world and we try to take full advantage of that!

14. What do you think of our site? 

It’s great! You have some fantastic bands featured on there which I have enjoyed checking out!
