Interviews: Celtic Metal Dude


On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal/Acoustic/Folk artist, Celtic Metal Dude, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name “celtic Metal Dude” was very much planned! It was meant to represent what the project is, and I think it accomplishes that I a funny way. 

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Truth be told I’ve already been creating similar “acoustic metal” with “The Dread Crew of Oddwood” for many years- I just wanted to start my own version of the project without having a pirate theme and to do it all exactly on my own terms. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Well, since it’s less a band than a video project, the official roster for Celtic Metal Dude is just me, Reece Miller, but I intend on having guests in most my videos from here on out. Currently the only guests I’ve had are all close friends!

4. Each band member favourite band?

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I love over the top, theatrical songs that include a strong melodic hook and

6. Where was your last gig?

This project has never had a live performance! So far it’s been all videos.

7. Where would you like to act?

I think this project would go great at a festival. Any festival really!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Any metal or folk act that will have me. I’d like to be billed with both metal and folk projects, and I’m open to other genres.

9. Whom not?

Nazis. No nazis. Or bands who don’t like power metal.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I’ve never suffered from stage fright. I think it’s helpful to Imagine yourself as a character and do what that character would do! Remove your own ego and identity from the equation.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The 2 bands that actually inspired me to start this project were Aether Realm and Equilibrium, but I adore and draw inspiration from early The Lord Weird Slough Feg and Hammers of Misfortune.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Recordings of my music

13. What do you think of your fans?

They’re perfect weirdos.

Black Lives Matter, and stay open-minded to new ideas and music. My whole project is about being able to appreciate something from multiple angles of interpretation, So I’m supportive of music fans everywhere adopting that philosophy in multiple aspects of their li
