Interviews: Entorx

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Death Metal/Thrash Metal band, Entorx, from Germany. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Sascha: The band name came about by chance when you started thinking about it. During a band rehearsal break. It should be short and to the point. „Torx“ comes from torx screws, „En“ is just an additon, to let it sound better and more metal. Voilá! The name has no special meaning to us.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Sascha: Bogdan founded the band in 2009 after the dissolution of his predecessor band TREMESCUM with much higher demands on the music. Death Metal was still chosen as the foundation, but they didn't want to limit themselves completely; make things a little more unique. I think metal is a huge foundation in the personality of all of us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Sascha: Bogdan and Taras are brothers and both played in TREMESCUM, Ilja (our first singer) was friends with them. All the staff after that got to know each other in the band

4. Each band member favourite band?

Sascha: I asked my colleagues:

Bogdan: REVOCATION, OPETH, DECAPITATED, GOROD

Taras: OPETH, GOJIRA, CRADLE OF FILTH

René: LIFELOVER, BELPHEGOR, KATATONIA, ISOLE,

Lukas: OBSCURA, BLOOD INCANTATION, MEPHORASH, PERSEFONE, HAKEN, DAVE BRUBECK All time faves for me are STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, OPETH, DHG, BEHEMOTH and SPAWN OF POSSESSION.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Sascha: Everyday life, people in the immediate vicinity, fates and worldwide events. And also completely indirect influences. Sometimes ideas just come out of nowhere, sometimes you approach the song in a targeted manner. The basic framework has always been written by Bogdan, details and arrangements have been gradually refined by the band. We want to address and pillory unpleasant topics with music and texts.

6. Where was your last gig?

Sascha: In our region in Wiesloch, southern Germany, February 2020. A very small, but still quite funny show. From then on, Corona also forced us to cancel some shows. We hope to be able to play again under certain conditions towards the end of the year...

7. Where would you like to act?

Sascha: Wherever we are welcomed! We are ready to play everywhere and promote our album with a really awesome live show, hang out with the fans and have a good time. Corona cannot stop soon enough! ;) DEAR BOOKERS, PLEASE GET US IN YOUR SHOWS! \m/

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Sascha: To feature someone is a cool promotion tool, of course. We absolutely don't want a cool artist to do this with us: why not? In any case, we don't have a wish list, as that's not our focus at the moment.

9. Whom not?

Sascha: Never say never ;) Anything can happen in songwriting. If it makes sense for a track to work with someone who is not part of the genre, then a "no go" could suddenly be the first choice. Honestly, who expected a reggae part when you first heard "Morbid Rage"?

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Sascha: I used to struggle a little with it, nowadays a certain amount of tension (sometimes more, sometimes less), mixed with anticipation. Simple tip for the "fearful": JUST DO IT!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Sascha: Probably some of the bands we listed you. For example, I also like to listen to Jazz and Hip Hop. We are inspired by everything we consider good. Trying to sound like a certain band isn't our concept either.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Sascha: We brought the weirdness by ourselves: We sold a tanga as mechandising, which is already sold out. More to come! Don't hold back doing and asking us weird things guys, we can handle it!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Sascha: Without fans and their feedback, and also purchases of course, we wouldn't be here today! Our music appeals to music enthusiasts and people who just want to experience a great concert. I also know people who don't really listen to metal at all and who think our music is great. We are VERY grateful for every single supporter.

14. What do you think of our site?

Sascha: An important and great looking tool! Sites like Breathing The Core help smaller bands, to spread their "plague“ and give them place to shout out and helps shouting out. Passionate people like you are extremely important to smaller bands like us. Especially in difficult times like right now, you are very dependent on online promotion.

15. Something add?

Sascha: Thank you so much for supporting us and the great interview, we are truly honored. To all the readers: Please check out „Faceless Insanity“! If you like the album, please tell your friends, parents or whoever else that we exist and that the album is great: D if it is possible for you, we would be happy if you would support us with the purchase of CD (also digital version available) and merch! Please check out our BANDCAMP page.

Otherwise, stream the f*ck out of our albums via SPOTIFY, APPLE MUSIC and everywhere else and spread our „insanity“.

WITHOUT YOU, WE WOULD BE NOTHING!

SUPPORT THE UNDERGROUND!
