Behind The Tracks: Abandoned Souls - Blinding Darkness (Single) (2020)

Before the pandemic hit we were beginning to record a bunch of tunes. We had just tracked drums and bass for Blinding Darkness when everything shut down. So, we decided to finish this one song and release it. We plan on getting back to tracking for the remainder of the songs very soon. 

The lyrics for this song were written shortly after my (James Todd) mother passed away. The song is about facing the reality of death or dark times and dealing with it. It’s about the reality of how suddenly someone can be gone and how life can change in an instant. It’s also learning to maneuver through the darkness and finding a way to be more comfortable within that space. To realize that you need to face it head-on sometimes and learn how to live and prosper from the experience of getting through these times.
