Interviews: Fell Fyre

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Power Metal band, Fell Fyre, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Just came up with it - a bit of fantasy, something epic with a bit of an evil ring to it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I love listening to both uplifting epic power metal and classic heavy metal. I wanted to have themes of triumph and glory, but i feel the need to involve darker elements too. Kind of an acknowledgement of "good and evil" tropes.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

This is a solo project with session musicians - I've had jam buddies but we never really did anything serious. Eventually I just wanted to get something recorded so I started looking for some session people and made my own project.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Just one? I could never pick one - some of my favorites offhand are Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, Noble Beast, Powerwolf, Saxon, Sabaton, Dragonforce, Rhapsody, Koffin Kats, Calabrese, and Tyr - but there's a bunch of other amazing artists I listen to all the time

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I just want to make my little contribution to the genre and have fun while doing it - I usually get a concept from fantasy or mythology and it just comes from there.

6. Where was your last gig?

Never played a gig as Fell Fyre.

7. Where would you like to act?

It'd be cool to just play in some small local venues - I feel like you can find open minded people that are open to new sounds there, or at least arent really looking for anything too specific. As a spectator, small venues always seem so personal and real.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

In dream-fantasy-land? Literally anyone from my favorite artists above.

9. Whom not?

No one specifically - elitists or gatekeepers I suppose.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Whether its public speaking or performing, practice. A lot, til it feels natural. Once youre happy with your sound just own it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Hammerfall, Iron Maiden, Dragonforce, Sabaton, Visigoth, and Dio.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Haven't received any weird requests yet.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I'd say Fell Fyre and it's fan base are very much still in it's infancy. There's a pretty small following right now, but I'm very thankful for them listening to and supporting the music. I always like to hear feedback or see people rocking Fell Fyre shirts- it's just so immensely cool to me. Every time I see a new location for streaming, or a new follower on the band page it's just neat to wonder how they came across it, and exciting that my music has...ticked someone else's boxes.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think it's really cool that you take the time to share and promote so many new artists.
